The basic objective of rally trials is to produce dogs that have been trained to behave in the home, public places and in the presence of other dogs in a manner that will reflect credit on the sport of rally at times and under all conditions. That is what AKC's definition of the objective of Rally but what they fail to mention is that is fun! In a Rally class you follow a course set up by the judge that has signs of what is expected of you and your dog. You can talk to your dog all you want (something you can't do in regular obedience) but you cannot touch or treat your dog. The novice signs are simple things like sit, down, call front, weave turns and fast or slow. There are 3 levels to rally, Novice, Advanced and Excellent. Check out AKC's web site for more information on Rally. Call 942-1768 for a recorded message |
